- 01
Collect the record
The holder fills a Beam form in the vID app or Cognition, optionally capturing documents with DataBeam AI extraction. Files are stored in DataBeam file storage and linked to the Beam input. Data can also be sourced from an ID verification result instead of a user form.
- 02
Run the processor
A Beam run moves from pending to complete or failed. Manual runs wait on an operator. AUTO issues immediately. Canary and TazWorks dispatch work to Windmill workflows and write the result back as Beam output.
- 03
Issue the credential
The output becomes a credential on the holder’s user record, optionally bound to a pass. Credentials follow a pending / active / revoked lifecycle and use the W3C Verifiable Credential data model, including credential subject, issuance date, and issuer.
- 04
Hold it in the wallet
vID’s default home screen is the wallet. Passes show verified identity plus issued credentials. Holders open a credential to see status, issuer, subject fields, and attachments: PDFs, Word documents, and images.
- 05
Share a living copy
From the credential, the holder generates a wallet share. Cortex creates a cryptographically random token, stores only its HMAC-SHA256 hash, and expires the link in 15 minutes. Recipients open a public Cognition page: status, subject fields, and files. No account required.
Four ways a Beam run completes.
Manual
Operator review
Credentials are generated by an operator in the DataBeam UI inside Cortex. Use this when a person needs to inspect input, attachments, or exceptions before issuance.
Auto
Immediate issuance
The input is written straight into a credential. The credential type schema must be the same as, or a subset of, the input type schema.
Canary
Windmill workflow
The Beam run is dispatched to a Canary Windmill workflow for automated processing, then written back as a Beam output and credential.
TazWorks
Screening searches
Configured searches are dispatched through Cerebrum’s TazWorks integration: driving records, professional references, education, employment, and social media investigations.
Holders share a presentation, not a file cabinet.
The wallet is the vID home screen. A credential becomes a QR code or copied link. Recipients open a Cognition page. The link expires in 15 minutes.
